Jae Kwon is a blockchain software architect and co-founder of Tendermint, and the president of the Interchain Foundation. “The vision of Cosmos is to empower people to create their own digital decentralized communities based on your own blockchain,” says Kwon.
Ethan Buchman is the co-founder of Tendermint and Cosmos projects. He serves as a technical director of the Interchain Foundation, which is a non-profit organization with a core mission to research, develop, and promote open, decentralized networks.
Jae Kwon and Ethan Buchman co-founded the Cosmos network in 2014, while also developing Tendermint, the consensus algorithm that would power Cosmos. Kwon and Buchman later wrote the Cosmos white paper, and the software was released in 2019.
