ApeCoin was created by APE Foundation, which is the gathering of Bored Ape Yacht Club enthusiasts, while Yuga Labs is also a member within ApeCoin DAO which may have some influence over the development of ApeCoin and other projects in the future.
There are 5 key members within the APE Foundation called The Board. This group of people plays a vital role in administering proposals submitted to ApeCoin DAO and provides the vision for the development of ApeCoin. The initial board serves a term of 6 months, afterward, the new board will be voted and selected annually.
As for the initial board, there are 5 members as follows:
1. Alexis Ohanian- Co-founder of Reddit; General Partner & Founder of Seven Seven Six
2. Amy Wu - Head of Ventures & Gaming at FTX
3. Maaria Bajwa - Principal at Sound Ventures
4. Yat Siu - Co-founder & Chairman of Animoca Brands
5. Dean Steinbeck - President & General Counsel at Horizen Labs
