What is Moonbeam Network?

Moonbeam network is a smart contract platform that is compatible with the Ethereum system and runs on the Polkadot network. The native token of Moonbeam is known as Glimmer (GLMR). Moonbeam aims to help developer reduce the cost and time for projects or redeploy their projects from other ecosystems into Polkadot, which make Moonbeam network unique because developers simply redeploy their project here without editing their smart contract from Ethereum or other ecosystems.

Who created the Moonbeam network?

Moonbeam Network was founded by Derek Yoo, CEO of PureStake a platform that provides public blockchain infrastructure to blockchain app developers and much more.

Interesting news about Moonbeam

Since it launched on Polkadot in 2022 Moonbeam has become a major gateway of smart contracts for many DApps. It has more than 100 projects working on its network right now. Recently there was an upgrade for Moonbeam resulting in major improvements to the system including Moonbeam Routed Liquidity (MRL), XCM to EVM integration (w/ XCMv3), and OpenGov.
