What is Livepeer (LPT)?

Modified on Fri, 22 Nov at 12:26 PM

Livepeer is a protocol designed to support decentralized video streaming, built on the Ethereum blockchain. The highlight of Livepeer is the provision of transcoding or video code conversion services to make video files available on multiple devices or platforms.

Livepeer's system runs through a network of service providers with available computing resources, such as CPUs or GPUs. These service providers can join the network to help process video and make streaming much less expensive compared to using traditional infrastructure.
