According to the announcement regarding the suspension of 57 digital currencies (temporary) on 15 September 2022 from 06:00 AM (GMT+7) to support the upgrade on the Ethereum Network called “The Merge” (referred announcement), Bitkub Exchange would like to inform you of more details for the benefit and the smoothest user experience of our customers. Please see the details below.
The Merge is an upgrade on the Ethereum Network to change the network consensus protocol from Proof of Work (PoW) to Proof of Stake (PoS), and will affect all systems that support digital assets on the Ethereum Network. The effects and operation plans for the post-upgrade period are as follows.
- Bitkub Exchange will reactivate the deposit and withdrawal of the 57 digital currencies immediately once ready, and an announcement will be published further (check the list of related digital currencies here). Please follow us for more updates.
- In case new digital assets occur from a hard fork after The Merge is completed, Bitkub Exchange will monitor the process closely. The company will consider distributing only the new assets that are of Ethereum PoW and supported by the Coinbase Custody, which is the digital asset custody of the company, to the investors who are qualified. However, the company reserves the right to consider only Ethereum PoW assets for listing on its digital asset exchange according to its listing rule approved by the SEC and the law with the highest security of the investors and any possible risks from such assets as of utmost importance.
Besides, the company reserves the right in its sole discretion to amend or change these announcement details, and we will notify you further if there are any changes.
Remark:
- For more information about The Merge, please check the official announcement from Ethereum at https://ethereum.org/th/upgrades/merge/ and the upgrade countdown is available at https://ethernodes.org/merge.
