What is EtherDelta Exchange?

Modified on Sat, 18 Feb, 2023 at 8:44 PM

EtherDelta is a decentralized peer-to-peer cryptocurrency exchange constructed principally for the exchange of Ether and Ethereum-based tokens (ERC20 tokens) between participants. The exchange operates on the Ethereum blockchain and provides several key functions such as deposits and withdrawals of funds, handling trade orders (new, modify, execute, and cancel the order), and enabling digital wallet integration.

In practice, users who receive their ERC20 tokens from an ICO are able to trade them through EtherDelta exchange. On the other hand, users who wish to purchase ERC20 tokens can do it through EtherDelta exchange as well. To sum up, EtherDelta allows users to trade their ERC20 tokens which could be an already established ERC20 token (e.g. ZRX token) that is listed on major cryptocurrency exchanges or new ERC20 tokens from ICOs that haven’t been listed or are soon to be listed on major exchanges.
