Digital Asset Category refers to the classification of cryptocurrencies and digital tokens available on Bitkub Exchange into different groups based on their core properties, use cases, or underlying technology. This classification is intended to simplify asset searching and help customers understand the characteristics of each asset. The categories are divided as follows:

Category
Definition
AI (Artificial Intelligence)
Digital assets designed to support and power blockchain-based AI ecosystems. They facilitate AI-related operations, access to AI services, governance, and community incentives, while ensuring transparency and decentralization in AI interactions. (Reference)
DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks)
Projects that build decentralized networks for physical infrastructure and real-world assets, where participants contribute hardware or resources and are rewarded with tokens. DePIN projects aim to replace or complement traditional infrastructure through community-driven, blockchain-based coordination. (Reference)
Game

Blockchain-based games that integrate decentralized finance (DeFi) elements, allowing players to own in-game assets, trade them, and earn token rewards through play-to-earn models. These projects merge gaming and blockchain economies via smart contracts. (Reference)

Bridge (Interoperability)
A blockchain bridge is a protocol that enables seamless transfer of data or tokens between two different blockchains. It typically uses minting & burning or lock & unlock mechanisms to maintain token supply consistency across chains. (Reference)
L1/L2 (Layer1 & Layer2)
Layer-1 (L1) refers to the base blockchain protocol that handles consensus, transaction validation, and network security. Layer-2 (L2) refers to scaling solutions built on top of L1 to improve throughput, reduce fees, and enhance efficiency while inheriting the security of the underlying base layer. (Reference)
Oracle
Oracles are protocols that deliver off-chain, real-world data to blockchain smart contracts. They serve as trusted bridges between the external world and on-chain logic, enabling contracts to execute based on real data. (Reference)

Restaking

Projects that have a restaking mechanism by which validators on Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchains redeploy their already staked assets or liquid staking derivatives to secure additional PoS chains or services, allowing for multiple sources of yield from the same capital. (Reference)

RWA (Real World Assets)

Real-world assets are off-chain tangible or intangible assets that are tokenized and brought on-chain for use in DeFi. They enable fractional ownership, liquidity, and programmable interactions for assets like real estate, bonds, invoices, or commodities. (Reference)
DeFi (Decentralized Finance)
A DeFi project refers to an ecosystem of financial applications built on blockchain technology. These protocols are typically non-custodial, open, transparent, composable, and decentralized. They enable financial activities such as lending, borrowing, trading, yield farming, and stablecoin issuance without intermediaries. (Reference)
