What is OCEAN?

Modified on Fri, 17 Feb 2023 at 12:47 AM

OCEAN or Ocean Protocol is a platform that can tokenize data or data-related services.
Users can tokenize their data and trade on the Ocean Market, which is very useful for the individual or organization that requires a specific set of data that might be unavailable or challenging to access, such as scientists, researchers, or data analysts.

The Ocean Market consists of 2 main type of tokenized assets, which are 1) the set of data that when sold, the ownership of that dataset will be transferred to the buyer, 2) the Compute-to-data service that buyer can access and compute that set of data, while the ownership of the data remains unchanged.

Any assets that are available on Ocean Protocol are represented in Datatoken, while their values are automatically regulated by Automated market maker (AMM).
