Band Protocol is a data oracle, a middle layer that is responsible for collecting and processing data from the physical world, the data is then verified by validator nodes before inputting that data into a blockchain or decentralized applications (DApps).
Here is the take. Originally, information from the physical world that needed putting into a blockchain could be quite dangerous because it had to be put manually by hand. If that information was wrong, or the one who put it had bad intentions, then the whole blockchain would be at risk.
That is where Band Protocol comes into play. Band Protocol will take responsibility of collecting data from the physical world, the data is then verified by validator nodes before inputting that data into a blockchain. This whole process operates automatically by the algorithm created by Band Protocol’s team of developers. You could say that Band Protocol will be a key player who leverages the security level for the blockchain community to another level.
