Power Ledger’s software operates across 3 key markets, namely:

• Energy Trading 

The energy trading software can be used to buy/sell electricity in real-time. If a user has solar panels on their rooftops, the user can use the platform to sell excess energy to their neighbors. In addition to that, with battery storage, the user can store energy and sell it at the peak to maximize their profits from the solar power they generate. Similar to trading shares on a stock exchange, a user can set “buy and sell” prices so that they can trade the energy at their preferred price.

• Environmental Commodities Trading 

Power Ledger technology can be used to make the trading of environmental commodities and renewable energy credits more transparent, secure, and efficient.

The market for trading environmental commodities is evolving at an exponential rate and there is mounting pressure to ensure credits are not double-counted or misappropriated.

A user can use Power Ledger’s proprietary blockchain technology to track energy from renewable sources to offset emissions as well as tracking the multitude of transactions relating to environmental commodities and renewable energy credits.

• Renewable Asset Ownership 

They have developed an asset ownership model that will activate more renewable energy assets so they can boost the portion of green energy available for use.
