The founder of the Aave Protocol had the initial desire to allow users to be able to provide proposals by holding the AAVE coin, a governance token. In detail, users will be able to govern the system through proposals on various systematic tweaks and additions which would then be voted on by other holders of the token for developers to take into account. The aforementioned system functions in the form of a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAOs).
