How to set up 2FA on Bitkub website?

Modified on Wed, 27 Dec, 2023 at 3:51 PM

Enabling 2FA (2-factor authentication) provides the 2nd step of security to your account before you log in, change your password, trade, and withdraw. This prevents unauthorized access from other people who have your login password.

In order to enable the 2FA on your Bitkub account, you will need to download a Google Authenticator app that provides a 6-digit one-time password that resets automatically every 30 seconds using the Time-based One-Time Password Algorithm (TOTP) and the HMAC-based One-Time Password Algorithm (HOTP).

How can I set it up?

1. Log in to your account on Bitkub.com and go to the homepage.

2. Click the 'Enable Now' button on 2-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION as shown in the picture.

3. When entering the security page, click the edit button (pencil icon) on the right side of the 2-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION section.

4. You will see a QR code that can be used with the Google Authenticator app.  If you are unable to scan the QR code, please enter the below key manually into the app.

*** You are strongly advised to back up or print the given QR code and store it in a safe place. In case you lose your phone, you can recover your account's access with it.

Remark: For Android users, you may see the Google Authenticator application in two different logos (the old logo and the updated logo).

 5. When you have successfully activated the function, the result of the webpage will be shown as in the picture.
