Change of API Key and API Secret (Enabling New API Management System and Public API Secure Endpoint V3)

In order to increase the efficiency of the API system, Bitkub Exchange has developed a new API Management system by providing a new version of the API Key and API Secret for API authentication as well as a new permission setting that is of higher security for the API Key.

Changes and Actions Required from API Users


1. Before 29 November 2023: Period of transferring from the old Public API Endpoint to Public API Secure Endpoint V3

  • Users still need to use to old Public API Endpoint.


Action requiredPlease record or copy the old set of your API Key and API Secret and keep it in a safe place by 29 November 2023 at 04:00 PM in order to secure your access to the old Public API Endpoint.


2. From 29 November 2023 at 04:00 PM onwards

  • Users will no longer be able to see their old API Key and API Secret information.

  • Users can create a new API Key on the new version of the API Management, and change to use the Public API Secure Endpoint V3.

    • The new API Key can be used only with the Public API Secure Endpoint V3 (the new key cannot be used with the old Public API Secure Endpoint and the Public API Secure Endpoint V3 cannot be used with the old API Key).

  • The new API Secret will appear only 1 time (at the time of creation) for security. 

    • If you forget or lose this information, you will need to create a new API Key to use instead.

  • New signature signing will be in place for Public API Secure Endpoint V3 (see the example at Github).


3. From 31 January 2024, the old version of API Key and Public API will be fully deprecated.

  • Users will need to change to the Public API Secure Endpoint V3, new API Key, and new signature signing.
