Modified on Thu, 6 Feb at 10:20 AM

You can activate and organize the settings of the passkey on the Bitkub website and application. This article, however, focuses on the steps for a setup on the Bitkub website. Before you start, please study the following conditions before activating your passkey.

Scope of use

  • If you reside in a country that does not support SMS OTP (see the list of supported countries here), you can still enable passkey by first activating the authentication code (see how to activate authentication code here). After enabling it, you will need to use your authentication code along with an Email OTP for security verification to activate passkey.

  • You can use the passkey on the Bitkub application version 3.31.1 and above. For the iOS operating system, the minimum version required is 16 or above; for the Android operating system, the minimum version is 10 or above.

  • A device used for scanning while setting up a passkey must be within a 5-meter distance.

  • To ensure smooth use of the services, please verify the phone number registered with your Bitkub account.

  • One Bitkub account can activate up to ten passkeys.

  • You can no longer use other security verification methods to verify crypto withdrawals after you activate the passkey on your account.

  • If you want to use other security verification methods, the passkey on a certain device must be removed. (Please check the ‘How to remove passkey’ section.)

  • To use the passkey, your device must support this function.

  • Unverified accounts (Tier 0) will not be able to activate the passkey.
