XLM has no mining method nor purchasable via ICO like other cryptocurrencies. Aside from trading with exchanges, you can get XLM by using other methods which are limited by the token distribution policy as follows:
- 50% of XLM are distributed to the individuals who got invited or registered to their meet-ups or events (50 - 300 XLM each time).
- 25% to charities, organizations, companies, and their business partners who support and make use of their Stella network.
- 19% to Bitcoin holders and 1% to Ripple holders.
- 5% are reserved in the Stella Foundation for operational costs and there will be an auction for sale later.
