How does Zilliqa verify transactions?

Modified on Sun, 19 Feb, 2023 at 10:27 PM

Zilliqa uses a hybrid consensus mechanism that integrates Proof-of-Work with sharding as consensus protocol. The definition of sharding simply put can be explained here; it is a process of separating a big chunk into smaller ones while maintaining a whole.

Through sharding, Zilliqa shards its nodes into smaller nodes for its verification process by allowing to increase the amount and validation of the transactions while maintaining a high speed flow of network. The verification process is done by a set of randomly selected nodes.
