What is peer-to-peer network?

In computer system, Peer-to-peer or P2P network stands for a connection among other people via an internet which is operated by software. Thus, in terms of cryptocurrency, this network allows the traders in a market to trade directly and freely to each other without any third party. P2P is  different from regular cryptocurrency exchange which serves as a middle man. The exchange software is used to automatically connect buyers and sellers with each other, based on the terms they prefer instead of matching order in order book
