2-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION (2FA)

Modified on Tue, 30 Jan at 2:18 PM

Two-Factor Authentication or for short as 2FA or TFA is an additional layer of security that is known as "multi-factor authentication" which requires not only a password and a username, but also something that only the user has on them, for instance, a piece of information only they know - such as a physical token which automatically changes every 30 seconds or a minute. (Click here to know how you can set up 2FA.)

Here at Bitkub Exchange, enabling 2FA authentication provides the 2nd layer of security to your account before you log in, change your password, and make THB and crypto withdrawals. This prevents unauthorized access from other users who have your login password.

Google Authenticator (or other applications that you may be using) provides a 6-digit, 1-time password that resets every 30 seconds using the Time-based One-Time Password algorithm (TOTP) and HMAC-based One-Time Password algorithm (HOTP).

To maximize the security of the account and assets, Bitkub Exchange requires our users to activate the 2FA feature before they start depositing tokens.

*After the 2FA setup is completed, you are strongly advised not to uninstall the Google Authenticator application, otherwise, your 2FA will be lost and you must follow the steps from this link to remove 2FA.
